My journey into making woodburned guitars was born, like so many other creative ventures, out of the pandemic. I had just lost my job working at an Appalachian Trail hiker hostel and found myself with relatively little money and an abundance of time. My nephew had shown some interest in learning guitar, so I found a cheap kit, dug up a woodburning pen I hadn’t picked up since childhood, and went for it. When I was finished, not only did I earn some cool uncle points, but found an incredible outlet for combining my passions of music and art. A few years later, I doubled down on this outlet after a work injury left me unable to play guitar. Since then, I have kept my foot in that door by fully leaning into building instruments that are as unique and personal as the songs being played on them. I do a combination of kits, parts-casters, and made-from-scratch, with the goal of having options at a range of price points. My goal is to create not only instruments that look and sound awesome but to create family heirlooms, treasured gifts, and inspiration. I know how much more fun it is to pick up your guitar when it’s one that you’re absolutely in love with, and it’s my goal to make that guitar. I can’t imagine a greater honor than to have my art play a role in someone else’s. I am building these guitars out of my home (a 2 room log cabin), so I can’t promise the factory grade perfection you may get from a big name guitar, but I can promise you a completely one of-a-kind quality instrument that will blow you away (and as an added bonus, will probably smell like woodsmoke). Thanks for checking me out and I look forward to creating your dream guitar!
